IMA Kanpur Organ Donation Awareness Car Rally 2026 – “Docs on Wheels” Successfully Organized

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Kanpur Branch, organized the “IMA Organ Donation Awareness Car Rally 2026 – Docs on Wheels” on Sunday, 22 February 2026, with great enthusiasm and participation. The primary objective of the rally was to spread awareness about organ donation and to convey the message “Donate Organs, Save Life” to the public.

The rally was flagged off from Delhi Public School, Mainawati Marg, Bithoor Road, Kanpur by Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mr. Ramesh Awasthi, along with distinguished guests Dr. Vipin Tanda, Additional Commissioner of Police, Kanpur Nagar, and Mr. Alok Mishra, Managing Director, Delhi Public School Kanpur.

On this occasion, IMA office bearers and a large number of doctors participated along with their families. The theme-based, beautifully decorated cars moved through major city routes, spreading the message of organ donation among the masses.

IMA Kanpur President Dr. Anurag Mehrotra stated that organ donation is a noble act that can give a new life to many patients in need. Organizing Committee Chairman Dr. Debashish Debroy and Co-Chairman Dr. Sanjay Singhvi expressed their gratitude to all participants and supporters. The Best Slogan Competition was judged by Dr. S. K. Katiyar (Past President, IMA Kanpur) and Mrs. Saroj Katiyar.
The Best Theme Decorated Car Competition was judged by Dr. A. K. Srivastava, Dr. Alka Sharma, and Dr. Archana Bhadauria (Past President, IMA Kanpur).

The rally concluded at Passion Royal Cottage, Bithoor, where the Chief Guest was Mr. Abhijeet Singh Sanga, MLA Bithoor.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at Kanpur Club at 8:00 PM, with Mr. K. Vijeyendra Pandian, IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Kanpur Division as Chief Guest and Brigadier M. S. Jamwal, Kanpur as Distinguished Guest. Awards were presented by P. B. Society Jewellers, Kanpur.

Prizes were distributed in multiple categories, including: Overall Winner, First Runner-Up, Second Runner-Up, Consolation Prize, Best Lady Driver, Best All-Lady Crew, Best Slogan, Best Theme Decorated Car, Senior Most Participant, Latest RTO Registration Car, First 25 Registration Lucky Draw, Treasure Hunt, Quiz, and several other attractive awards.

IMA Kanpur Secretary Dr. Shalini Mohan thanked all guests, participants, sponsors, and citizens for their support in making the event a grand success and appealed to the public to come forward for organ donation.
