UPPATHCON 2026: Kanpur to Host 33rd Annual Conference of IAPM UP Chapter
1st Oct 2026, Kanpur: Kanpur is set to host a major three-day scientific conference bringing together renowned pathologists, microbiologists, clinical scientists, researchers and laboratory experts from across the country. The 33rd Annual Conference of the Uttar Pradesh Chapter of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM), UPPATHCON 2026, will be held from October 2 to 4, 2026, at CSJM University, Kanpur, and will be hosted by the Department of Lab Sciences, Regency Hospital Limited.
Based on the theme “Decoding Diseases: Clues to Conclusions,” the conference will focus on modern diagnostic medicine, emerging technologies, research and the future of pathology and microbiology. The event is expected to provide a platform for scientific exchange, dissemination of research, continuing medical education and practical learning.
According to Dr. Atul Kapoor, CMD, Regency Hospital and Patron of the Organising Committee, the conference aims to strengthen the link between laboratory diagnosis and clinical decision-making. More than 700 delegates and over 200 oral research presentations are expected, along with poster presentations and an extensive scientific programme.
The scientific sessions will cover several contemporary areas, including digital pathology, molecular diagnostics, advanced PCR techniques, next-generation sequencing, immunohistochemistry, quality assurance and specialised grossing techniques.
The main conference will feature expert lectures, masterclasses, symposia and multidisciplinary panel discussions addressing challenging and evolving areas of pathology and microbiology. Researchers and postgraduate trainees will have opportunities to present their original work through oral and poster presentations, as well as through the innovative “PathoArt” initiative.
An important academic feature of UPPATHCON 2026 will be a Postgraduate Academic Quiz, designed to encourage diagnostic reasoning, quick recall and a deeper understanding of pathology and microbiology among postgraduate trainees.
The conference will also bring academia and the diagnostic industry together through an In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) Exhibition, featuring more than 45 industry stalls. Delegates will have the opportunity to explore laboratory automation, diagnostic reagents, digital pathology solutions and molecular diagnostic platforms.
The combination of scientific discussions, practical learning, original research and exposure to emerging technologies is intended to provide participants with an understanding of how advances in laboratory medicine can be translated into everyday patient care.
Regency Hospital Limited, which has been part of Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare sector since 1995, is hosting the conference. The hospital has developed its healthcare network around clinical excellence, advanced technology, compassionate care and continuous learning.
UPPATHCON 2026 aims to create an environment where scientific advances meet clinical experience, research connects with clinical practice, and diagnostic expertise interacts with technology. Through expert-led scientific sessions, practical workshops, original research presentations, postgraduate participation and industry interaction, the conference is expected to provide an important platform for professionals and trainees to exchange knowledge and explore the evolving role of pathology and microbiology in modern healthcare.
At the press conference, Dr. Anjali Tiwari, Chairperson of the Organising Committee; Dr. Deepti Gupta, Organising Secretary; Dr. Nupur Trivedi, Co-Organising Secretary; and Dr. Chand Nigam were present.
