Blood donation camp organized by GSVM, Kanpur
09 April 2026, Kanpur : Blood donation camp was organized by the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Medical College, Kanpur, in collaboration with Kanpur Thalassemics and GSVM Medical College, Kanpur.
On this occasion, MBBS Students participated actively. With the blessings of Dr. Sanjay Kala, Principal GSVM and examplary initiative by Dr. Yashwant K. Rao, Prof. Dept. Of Pediatrics to motivate these MBBS students. Special mention for Dr. Lubna Khan (Nodal officier , Transfussion medicine), she also donated blood to boost the morale of all blood donors.
The students voluntarily donated blood for children suffering from thalassemia. The camp witnessed great enthusiasm among the donors. A total of 108 units of blood were collected during the camp.
Dr. Namrata Nigam (Assistant Professor) from the Department of Transfusion Medicine was present to assist & to ensure the safety of all blood donors.
The camp was successfully conducted with the support of Mr. B. Bhattacharya (President, Kanpur Thalassemics), Mr. Prem Narayan Gupta, Mr. Gyan Singh (Technical Supervisor), and the Blood Bank team.
