Scientific CME Organized at IMA Lucknow

15 July 2026, Lucknow: The Lucknow Branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme at the IMA Building on the occasion of National Plastic Surgery Day and World Population Day.

During the scientific session, eminent plastic surgeons delivered expert lectures on various modern aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Mukta Verma spoke on Facial Rejuvenation, Dr. Richa Srivastava presented on Breast Reduction, Dr. Neeraj Upadhyay discussed Hair Transplantation, Dr. Vivek Saxena delivered a talk on Unwanted Hair Removal, and Dr. Ravi Kumar shared his insights on Life After Oral Cancer Surgery.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers highlighted that Maharishi Sushruta is globally recognized as the Father of Plastic Surgery. Nearly 2,600 years ago, he described advanced techniques of reconstructive surgery and rhinoplasty, laying the foundation for modern plastic surgery. They also noted that India takes pride in the recent installation of Maharishi Sushruta's statue in Australia, recognizing his remarkable contribution to medical science and honoring India's rich medical heritage.

The programme was attended by Dr. Shweta Srivastava, Honorary Secretary, IMA Lucknow; Dr. Sanjay Saxena, President-Elect; Executive Committee Members Dr. Ritu Saxena, Dr. Seema Singh, Dr. Rajeev Saxena, along with several senior doctors and IMA members.

The event concluded with the presentation of mementoes to all the speakers in recognition of their valuable contributions.
